WelcomeThis website has been created to publicly display much of the archive material that has been collected in connection with the film and television studios in Wembley Park, London, UK.
The studios were most recently operated for television production under the name of 'Fountain Studios'. When news of Fountain's closure was announced in early 2016 it prompted a group of the company's staff to create an archive of the studio's history. Many photographs were taken, documents catalogued, and people interviewed. Eventually a spectacular collection of the studio's past came together, along with a feature-length documentary preserving the site's history for generations to come. Upon Fountain's closure in December 2016 much of the archive was donated to the British Film Institute. Other organisations that also took a share of the material include Kaleidoscope Television who are based in Birmingham. Please take the time to browse this site, look at documents, photographs, 360 shoots and videos to get a feel for the near-100 year history of film and television production that took place at the Wembley Park Studios. For further reading please also pay a visit to the wonderful tvstudiohistory.co.uk, Kaleidoscope's website tvbrain.info as well as studiomancan.com which features studio manager Mike Edward's blogs and vlogs from the studio's final year of operation. Please also see the Wembley Matters website, which features on-going updates as to the developments around the Wembley area, as well as a pioneering campaign to include the 'lions heads' in the future development of the studios' site. As of 2024 the site is operated as a theatre space under the name of Wembley Park Theatre by Troubadour. |
